  • Buster the fun bus.
We discovered buster the fun bus the other day. Its great fun. It goes to different places every morning, generally parks if the weather is good. They bring ride on toys and other toys, playdough, a craft and apparently sometimes do painting. The ladies set it up and pack it up, so you can come and go at your leisure. Its for children up to 5y.o. The toys are clean and there were some suitable for my 5 month old as well as lots to do for my toddler. Best of all its FREE.  There is a timetable on the website, we will definately be going back.

  • Country Life Farm Dunsborough.
On a recent trip down south we discovered a fantastic child friendly activity in the country life farm. It is very 'rustic' but lots of fun ans there is lots to do.  On payment you receive a bucket of carrots which will feed all the farm animals. There is a shed with rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and various other birds. You can pick up and cuddle the animals and feed them some of your carrots. There are geese and chickens as well as a peacock roaming over the grounds, who all like carrots. There is a paddock with alpacas, sheep and goats and another with ponies, donkeys etc. Every hour a faily tired carousel is turned on, which the children enjoy. There is a lake with row boats that you can paddle around a small island in the middle, with life jackets for the children. Inside a brand new playgym has been built. It is quite extensive, with  lots of slides and tunnels and several ball pits. There are also toys in here for babies. Socks must be worn inside, so dont forget to take a pair. Back outside, there is a giant jumping castle and a inflatable side, which my 2 year old was too young for, but looked like lots of fun. For a little extra, everything else is included, there are some new looking bumper cars. Lastly, my daughters favourite is the fairly tired outside toys, including ride in cars, cubby houses etc in a nice outdoor grassed section. There are also lots of areas for picnics etc. We will definately be going back it was lots of fun.

  • Jungle Gym, Willeton.
My daughter and I love to go to the local indoor play gym, called jungle gym.  She has a great run around and is so exhausted she always has a huge sleep afterwards.  We sometimes go with our mothers group or just the two of us.  It has huge trampolines, foam pits, a massive slide and is all very safe and well padded.

  • Mums and Bubs Movie.
Our mother's group had an outing to the mums and bubs movies.  It was a very successful outing.  The babies slept and fed and we enjoyed the movie.  One or two of the babies fussed a little.  We got there early and had seats where we could rock the babies in their prams.  Our cinema offers a mums and bubs session with reduced priced tickets once a fortnight and I  look forward to going again.

  • Wiggles
One of our favourite activities is our annual venture to The Wiggles Live Show at the Burswood, we have been the last two years and are definitely planning on going again in 2010. My 2 year old LOVES the live shows as she recognises all the songs and characters from her DVDs. Normally her attention span is quite short, but with the concert only going for 55 minutes and plenty happening at all times, she is amazingly entertained. The shows are high energy with great emphasis on audience participation, as well as plenty of cheeky comments and gags from the Wiggles to keep the adults chuckling. Just make sure you go there early on the day as parking is quite bad, as well as watch out for tickets going on sale in June or July as they sell out pretty quickly.

  • Pool, Dancing, Park
My 4 year old daughter loves going to the local pool with her Daddy. It's been a great bonding activity for them, it's very cheap, and the pool is nice and warm so they can go year round.
She also loves her dancing classes, which she started when she was 3. I wanted to get her used to listening to a teacher before kindy started and I think it worked a treat. I also think it's built her confidence and we've made a lot of new friends there.
Any local park...if there's a playground, she's happy. Piney Lakes on Murdoch Drive is a great one. There are lots of different activities. She loves feeding the ducks, playing in the playground and going for a bushwalk and looking at the art sculptures along the way.

  • Perth Zoo, Rhyme Time
We have bought a yearly Perth Zoo membership for $60 per adult, children under 4 are free.  We often will go for just an hour and do a quick circuit with our 2 year old.  This is long enough for her and is a great outing which we talk about for weeks afterwards.  I highly recommend it.
Our local library does rhyme time once a week, where a librarian sings nursery rhymes with the children. It lasts for half an hour and is aimed at the under 2 age group.  The children are free to run around or sit down and join in.  My daughter thoroughly enjoyed it, and I would recommend it to others.
