What product (s) did you buy for your baby that you would recommend to others and why (include brand) ? eg pram, sling, steriliser, breast pump etc

 ·        Silver cross Kensington pram, old fashioned carriage style, great for walks from home only! Safe and spund capsule and profile pram that it attaches into, perfect for when baby has fallen asleep in the car Avent breast pump, didn’t work for me and gave up after a week! Just used milton steriliser and a bucket but only use glass bottles as I feel if you need to use in a microwave you don’t risk any nasties. Baby Bjorn sling, haven’t used much wouldn’t bother if I’d known. Lots of vests and face washers! Mother of Saskia 10months.

·        Sling (Baby Bjorn), Bepanthem used at every nappy change and very few nappy rashes, Sleeping bags once they hit the 4 month mark and before that I bought to 1.5 metre lengths of muslin and sewed the raw edges (much better than the store bought wraps, which wrap them for 5 seconds), plus Hannah liked her arms a little free.... not so squashed up. Mother of Hannah, 20 months

·        If you are thinking of having more than one child, buy a pram that you can add a toddler seat to.  We had a Phil and Teds pram and it was perfect for 1 or 2 children.  Mother of Ella 6 and Thomas 4 years old.

·        A small nappy change set is fantastic for taking out when you don’t need a whole nappy change bag.  Buy one with a fold out nappy mat.  Just pop in a couple of nappies, wipes, disposal bags and off you go.  Father of Jack, 2 years old.

·        Most medications cannot be used for babies with a snotty nose.  Saline drops and an aspirator, I use Fess brand, has been great for my daughter.  They work really well to clear her nose and allow her to feed more effectively.  Mother of Lucy 8 months

·        I could not live without my handheld vacuum and my pressure cooker. Mother of Callum 2 years old.

·        The no cry sleep solution book by Elizabeth Pantley.  Offers lots of different gentle settling techniques and ideas. These gentle techniques are slow to implement and will generally take persistence to see results. One main suggestion is for breaking the feed to sleep cycle. When baby wakes feed them and let them suck until almost asleep then detach when sucking slowly. If baby stirs feed them again and detach when sucking slows. Then slowly work towards detaching them earlier in the feed so they go into their cot awake and fall asleep on their own. Mother of Ethan 7 months.
